Theme of The Week for 8/23/2010: “Playful Curiosity”

Good morning and Happy Monday!!!!  I hope this post reaches you in good spirits.

The theme of this week is Playful Curiosity, I will start you off with a quote:

“Children show me in their playful smiles the divine in everyone. This simple goodness shines straight from their hearts and only asks to be lived.” -Michael Jackson

My inspiration for the theme this week comes from watching children playing at a friends birthday party I attended this weekend.  I was watching these 2 and 3 year old’s playing together, and there was such effortless ease to their movements and interactions.  This got me thinking that we all started like this.  We were all the 2 and 3 year old’s, playfully curious and excited about the very moment we were in.  We weren’t wondering what was coming next, or waiting for something better to show up to tell us we were worth it, or even scared to make a mistake.  We were fully integrated and living in the moment.

Thus, theme of the week :)…

Let’s be playfully curious as we go about our week.  Let’s bring a little bit of our 2 and 3 year old’s back, because guess what they are still in us.  How do we do this you may ask?  My motto is small steps make big strides.  So maybe it is giving  our selves  playful permission to be present and in the moment at work or with our friends and families, or going to the beach and/or park and exploring it like it is our first time at these places,  or when something comes up that we may deem as a struggle, receiving it with a more playful curiosity.

Try it and see what happens,  the worst that could happen is you “fall” down and just like that 2 year old, you get right back up and try again :).  To be willing to show up as our selves is the first step.

    Have a wonderful week!

    Playing Curiously with you,

    Melanie
