Somatic healing for women

The Death, The Descent, and The Rebirth

Over the last few years, I found myself in a quiet season. Not just a pause, but a deep internal unraveling. I spent that time behind the scenes, creating without pressure, sitting in the unknown, and letting go again and again. Something inside me began to stir. And while I felt the familiar pull of a new beginning, I also felt trepidation. I had been here before on the edge of something new. I had declared past versions of my business complete. I had spoken about new iterations and deep transformation for women. All of it was true, but I didn’t yet understand how many layers this path would ask me to move through.

Laboring Through Transformation

I had thought I had arrived more than once. But each time, I realized I was still in the midst of labor. This wasn’t false labor; it was real and meaningful. It brought me to where I am now.

Over the past three and a half years, every version I shared was part of the journey. Each one was a birth into a deeper death. Like the seasons, we are constantly being invited into the next layer. And honestly, I didn’t expect this cycle to be so extreme. But I stayed with it. And eventually, I began to feel something new: a sense of readiness that felt rooted, ripened, and real.

This entire journey became my own path of embodied transformation for women, not in theory, but lived moment by moment, breath by breath.

Lessons from the Jungle

During this major death/new beginning portal I moved to Costa Rica. Being here now for 2 years I am learning to listen differently. This jungle is a great teacher, for she reminds us that if we truly want to flow we must let go of our agenda.  Most mornings begin with the call of howler monkeys – reminders to listen to nature’s wisdom – the call of the monkey, the rainstorms, the bird perched on the tree. This jungle – She shows me how to let go and how to bloom. She shows me how to decay with grace and how to stay present in discomfort long enough to discover what is real.

Even though many of you reading this are living elsewhere, I know you’ve been feeling it too. The ground has been shifting for all of us. So much is unraveling. So much is being asked. And yes, it has been exhausting at times.

The Original Call

If you’re new here, or if we’ve walked this path together for a while, you might know that I began this work in 2012. It started with a deep desire to walk alongside women through life’s sacred thresholds. I wanted to be a guide, a mirror, and a companion for those tender transitions we often navigate alone.

Back then, the work began as Yogalicious, which eventually evolved into Essence’tially You. Both iterations held so much beauty and truth. But something changed.

The Real Descent

In late 2021, my outer life looked full. My practice was thriving, and my work felt purposeful. But I had not yet fully honored one truth: I was out of alignment in my romantic relationship.

After nearly a decade together, I knew it was time to let go. And I was terrified. Of the grief, the loneliness, and the unraveling that would follow. Because the unraveling didn’t stop at the relationship. It touched every part of my life.

I moved to a new country. I questioned everything. I released a version of my business I once loved. And I realized the woman who built that business had changed too much to keep it going in the same way.

A Myth to Hold Me

During this time, my mentor reminded me of the ancient Sumerian myth of Inanna. Inanna, the Queen of Heaven and Earth, chose to descend into the underworld to meet her sister in grief. At each of the seven gates, she removed a symbol of power and identity. She arrived at the final gate stripped bare and was hung on a hook. But her story didn’t end there. She was remembered and retrieved. She returned transformed.

This myth became my mirror. It helped me understand that descent is not failure. It is initiation.

And this is what embodied transformation for women often asks of us. To lay everything down, to meet the parts we’ve hidden, and to rise not as who we were, but as who we truly are.

Transformation for Women

The Power of Letting Go

Letting go of the relationship, laying down a beloved business, and sitting in the dark soil of unknowing brought me to a deeper truth. I asked again and again, “Who am I now?” And slowly, I began to rise, not with performance or polished answers, but from the ashes of everything I had surrendered.

Through the fire, the grief, the stillness, and the remembering, something new began to form. I could not rebuild the old. I had to let it fully die so that something more honest could take root.

One essential practice that held me through this chapter of deep transformation, and continues to hold me is ritual. Rituals are expressions of life, and we’re regularly doing them. When we begin to bring presence and intention to them, we bring to life something new, and we begin to bring action to our intentions. I want to share with you a guided ritual for women navigating change is below. Originally shared during the New Beginning Ceremony blessing my new business, is an invitation to pause, honor where you’ve been, and gently step into what’s next. You can use it as a way to cross a threshold in your own life, whatever stage you’re in.

A New Beginning

Now, I am so honored to share this new beginning with you with a brand new site and ways to work together. This is not just a relaunch. It is a resurrection. This new website is a living, breathing transmission of everything I’ve lived through. It’s a new home for this work, for you, and for us.

The original calling hasn’t changed, it’s only deepened. I’m still here to walk with women through transformation, embodiment, and sacred change. But now, I offer it from a place that has been reshaped by descent and rebirth.

This new chapter reflects my most honest expression of embodied transformation for women navigating change, loss, and emergence.

What Comes Next: Transformation for Women

This site is just the beginning. There will be new offerings, resources, and invitations to gather. It will continue to evolve, just like we do. It’s a place where you can reconnect to your Self and feel seen, supported, and rooted during your own thresholds.

So I invite you to explore my transformational offerings for women and let them meet you where you are.

Thank you for witnessing this journey.
Thank you for being here.
And thank you for walking your own sacred path with courage and heart.

With reverence,

Melanie
